Over the past few months I've seen an increase in clients who either don't feel the need or simply can't afford a full on course of coaching sessions but what they do need is a one off session to help them with a BIG DECISION.
Maybe you've experienced a time when you had a decision to make but every time you thought about it it all seemed too big, complicated or overwhelming.
Maybe you discussed it endlessly with your friends, family or colleagues but never got anywhere as it always seemed somehow to have their own agenda.
And I know for sure that you knew your lack of decision was keeping you STUCK!
When you have a big decision to make it seems to reside in your head and doesn't allow you to focus on anything else. The longer you procrastinate the worse things get. Making a decision, a decision either way frees up your mind and your energy. In fact sometimes even making the decision to not make a decision works!
Consider this for a moment... The decisions you make create your life.
Think about it for a moment, consider the major (and minor) decisions you've ever made in your life and you will know for sure that the statement above is true. You decided everything from who you live with, where you live, how you spend your time right down to what you're going to eat for your next meal.
Working with a coach on a one off basis offers you a safe space to get all the stuff (that's a technical term by the way!) out of your head and gives you a massive sense of clarity that you've not had before. There's no judgement from me - simply open, honest support and feedback and the opportunity to gain a new perspective on your challenge or big idea.
I recently had one client who had been working on a project for nearly two years and was at crossroads where she had to make a decision. If she didn't she knew all the time and energy she had already given to this would be lost. Time was pressing, she had a meeting in three days time to resolve the issues and had to be clear about what she wanted to say. When my client initially called me with her challenge I asked her to write down everything she could to explain the situation to me and we scheduled a 90 meeting session for the following day.
I have to say that the most important aspect I, as a coach bring to these sessions is the ability to listen effectively and then ask just the right question. As the 90 minutes drew to a close my client knew she had all the answers needed to move forward.
She later send me the following email...
"Just to let you know that the meeting on Thursday went really well. Not one person had a comment to make about the proposals I set out! Membership fee set, aims, goals, mission statement, marketing strategy, rolls assigned .... the works!
Thank you so very much. I certainly wouldn't have got to that place without your invaluable help."
