There’s always a way.

Last week I had the great pleasure to meet an amazing woman – Karen Darke.

At the age of 21,  Karen took a fall whilst pursuing her passion  of climbing and was left paralysed from the chest down.

Now I don’t know about you but in my head this is a version of Hell.  How do you get through something like that?  Where do you find the will to go on?  To overcome the physical and mental challenges something like this throws at you?  How easy would it be to simply give in and live as a victim?

I know before her accident, Karen had similar thoughts, in fact in her book ‘If you fall’ she repeats what she said, literally the day before her life changed forever – she told her friends ‘I’d rather die than be paralysed’.

But since that fateful day she has achieved amazing things including finishing her Ph.D. in Geology,  skiing across Greenland and cycling through the Himalayas.  She is currently training with the goal of cycling in the paralympic games in London in 2012 and working on a plan to ski to the South Pole.

So – if you’re facing challenges, however big or small or feel life’s too hard to bear,  visit Karen’s website www.karendarke.com and prepare be inspired.
